The Sacrament of Confirmation brings to completion the grace received through Baptism. By this Sacrament the baptized are more perfectly bound to the church and are enriched by the strength of the Holy Spirit. This gift conforms believers more fully to Christ and strengthens them to bear witness to Christ for the building up of his body in faith and love.
At Christ the King Parish, the Sacrament of Confirmation is typically celebrated in the Spring of the 8th grade year.** While we do not yet know the date for the Sacrament of Confirmation, we will make that information available to you as soon as we receive it from the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
The Sacrament of Confirmation requires that a candidate be baptized in the Catholic Church. Preparation for this Sacrament is necessary, and in accordance with the Sacramental Preparation guidelines of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, students are prepared in the following ways:

All families wishing for their child to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at Christ the King Parish
must complete the registration form (see link below) so the parish can accurately verify/ record the Sacrament (s).
All families who are NOT registered parishioners at Christ the King Parish will need to obtain a letter from the pastor of their home parish granting permission for their child to receive the Sacrament at Christ the King Parish by November 1, 2024. This includes Catholic School families. These letters can be sent via mail or email to

All families of children who were NOT baptized at one of the former parishes that make up Christ the King (Saint Joseph, Saint Juan Diego, Saint Pio and Saint Scholastica Parishes) will need to provide a copy of the child's Baptismal certificate NO LATER than November 1st.
